PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Our Supply program for fresh food items will center on using those suppliers we have come to know in the locality of this operation. Strict control on our suppliers is provided to ensure they meet the criteria of our ordering and supply standards.
Wadi Al-Nisoor Company management in Karbala regularly meets with suppliers and further liaises with our central operations support in Baghdad for the inventory requirements and phasing of delivery to each site.
All supplies will be loaded under supervision and verification to ensure the correct stock is initiated and the supplies meet the menu variety required.
Delivery to the sites shall be undertaken by the suppliers direct with direction and supervision being given by our central operations management both in Karbala for local supplies and services and otherwise through our Head Office support departments located in Baghdad.

In general, Wadi Al-Nisoor Company follows a procurement strategy that is based on the following principles:
– Buying the right product in the right quantities and at the most advantageous landed cost, while at the same time meeting the time sensitivities of the customer.
– Utilizing several freight forwarders to consolidate purchased material into full, or less than full, container lots for efficient forwarding.
– Procuring goods and services locally in the Basra region if possible and when the quality of the material is at an acceptable standard.
– Pre-qualifying multiple goods and service suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and alternate sources of supply as and when needed, and monitoring their performance to ensure that the list remains current and valid.
– Spreading business amongst pre-qualified suppliers to ensure continued good will and availability.
– Using proven and reliable freight forwarders for delivery into the Middle and of South Iraq.
– Ensuring that an adequate supply of mission spare parts and materials, including mission critical spares, is maintained on site.

Wadi Al-Nisoor Company works according to a Concentric Circle Purchasing strategy. Fresh food items such as vegetables, fruits and other perishable items are procured locally from vendors we have worked with for a long time and know they deliver quality. Frozen, chilled and dry food items are procured as close to Iraq as possible, Dubai, U.A.E. and Turkey being the most obvious choices where European origin quality products are readily available. Special items or ethnic food ingredients are sourced directly from the country of origin. Korean products and ingredients are sourced directly from Korea. We source most European products from UAE, Turkey, China and Korea.
Ability to Supply Non-Locally Sourced Food and Material
Wadi Al-Nisoor Company has been operating in Iraq since 2016 supplying non-locally sourced supplies to the current Oil & Gas operations we have in the southern oilfields.
Our central office in Baghdad is staffed with 80 personnel all geared to remote site project support.
This includes dedicated Purchasing and Transport Logistics, and similarly HR and Finance departments.
Management support and supply chain logistics in UAE, Iran and Turkey is a vital element in providing strong Iraq support to ensure comprehensive ability to act on demand with minimal process time.
For additional international procurement support we can also rely on the world-wide network of our parent company, Agility.
For frozen and dry food items as well as consumables and other material our Supply program will center on using tried and trusted vendors on our approved suppliers’ list.
Inspecting and Expediting Procurement Items
Wadi Al-Nisoor Company is committed to the timely delivery of goods and services as well as providing the quality as required by the SOW. For important key procurement and production processes, delays or difficulties in delivery of materials, products or equipment may result in very high costs and can even endanger the whole project.
Therefore we will incorporate early inspection and expediting processes into the project planning at the onset to ensure compliance with the
required delivery terms.
Inspections of production and packing of various goods and equipment, as well as expediting of transportation of the same will be carried out by experienced and professionals of Wadi Al-Nisoor Company Purchasing and Logistics Department who have sufficient understanding and experience to work with the suppliers in order to detect the areas causing problems and/or delays. We will identify the areas which may cause potential delays and undertake the necessary actions to ensure that materials and equipment are delivered to the location on or before the date defined in the mobilization plan and later in the operations plan.
Transportation Methods and Procedures
As part of one of the largest logistics and supply chain providers in the Middle East, with substantial assets based in Dubai, Wadi Al-Nisoor Company is able to leverage its supply chain assets to ensure successful delivery of contract requirements. This includes transportation of all equipment, materials, stores, and even personnel.
Delivery of goods will be dependent on location, destination, and the timeframe/constraints surrounding the delivery. Imported goods will be delivered to our central port, and subsequently distributed to location as required.
Some locally purchased goods will also be delivered to our warehouse and later distributed as needed, while some may be delivered straight to the location by the supplier or Wadi Al-Nisoor Company own transport assets.
Our transport department will determine the best available transportation methods and routes to ensure time and safety factors, as well as security implications are all taken into consideration.
Transportation personnel will devise primary and secondary overland routes where appropriate. All deliveries are then tracked using our freight management system. Currently we are using three entry points to Iraq:
